Modal and Symbolic Logic are purely deductive sciences.

Informal Logic is just really fun - it leaves open the possibility of ambiguity however, (is an argument ad hominem or strawman or both, etc) yet I'd say that an accurate and thorough comprehension of Informal Logic would thereby be an acquired, Art-like Science.

I got a B in the class though, possibly because I'm an art major and just chose to look at Logic too Artistically ;) So take that with a grain of salt.

Logic is definitely an art. The way some proof are constructed, the sheer beauty and intuition of them is tremendous. They truly are art-forms.
For example Cantor's Diagonal argument proof that there are different kinds of infinity is nothing short of artistic.[1]

Being art however logic may be science at the same time.
The question about logic being empirical or not is old and still open.

It is Ethics......and for what you are asking it is a blending of the two. To be truly Logical one must be aware of Ethics, and yes there is an art to the communicative part of it. This stems from Science from which we must discern for ourselves which at what moment in time is more important to address. Living in the now is the only way to know.
