That's not really a big deal anymore. Capitalism has won out against communism.

The basic reason is one of misunderstanding. The Soviets demonstrated a very hard line communism that led to a repressive state, and much the same as in North Korea today. Under Chairman Mao Tse Tung, China too underwent a harsh phase to unite the 56 ethnic groups into a country and remove the vestiges of the corruption of Chiang Kai Shek but once that was accomplished, they felt secure enough to re-open the doors and is no different than life is in the US. Because of the drastic means to achieve this cohesiveness, the US has focused on that issue and not the changes that have occurred in China or VietNam or other communist countries. It is not perfect but neither is democracy! The US charges human rights as their main argument, but what rights were violated in Kent State, or Watts, or the other fiascos. What about the KKK? While Russia was aggressive with their expansionism, China wanted to solidify their own country and did append Tibet for security but also for cultural and ethnic reasons. They had to rebuild a country made of fiefdoms, Japanese invasion, corruption and the means did justify the end result. But was it so different from the Indian Wars to establish white superiority over the west. I think by large we are just looking at two dogs of the same color.

The United States isn't "against" Communists...but it's more the fact that Communism doesn't work, and we know it.
Communism is the best idea on paper...but it doesn't actually work, because frankly, people want to own stuff.
And as far as being "against" anyone, Communists are more against the United States because of our freedom. Even the ones in power in a Communist country envy those that have something they don't...and here we have freedom, which they don't have; in as much as "being" themselves.
So ask yourself this...why do you THINK the United States is against Communism...and why is Communism a "bad" idea in the first place?

Communism is an economic ideology that is completely opposite to free market capitalism, which is what is practiced here. Under a communist government, one can not own property, it is owned by the governement, along with the means of production, i.e., agriculture, energy refining, etc. That is communism on paper.
In reality, people have used the word "communism" as a legitimate front for their dictatorship, for instance look at Cuba or North Korea. The government owns everything in each country, and the people are basically just serfs that work toward helping the countries build up their military, so that they can be taken seriously on a global stage. The ideology of Communism is un-American and contradicts most of what our founding fathers sought to create.

That in mind, the United States seeks to promote democracies, so that we can have political allies (especially ones loaded with vast natural resources) who rely upon our economy and foreign aid.

It's a matter of ideology. Communism is a concept where everyone is equal. But they ain't because there is always a government that gets all the good stuff when all the others get crap. Only place I can see communism working is in team sports where all are equal and work for the team. U.S. is about capitalism where you as an individual can reach for your goals be as rich as you want if you work your butt off and are lucky. Communism/ socialism never has worked for very long because people need and should be free to follow their dreams. But we would leave them alone if they left us alone but history shows that they always want to dominate the poor old US and then we have to kick some booty then re-build their country for them. And then they forget what we did for them in the past and hate us hate us hate us. The united States is the greatest country the world has known so far but I am afraid it is going down for many reasons, too numerous to list here. Such is life... when people don't learn or evolve history repeats itself. I am old and have seen many things been lucky enough to travel the world and in my years here on this rock I am and will always be proud to be an American....

How can you be FREE if a specific group of people is always telling you what you can and cannot do?

In a democracy the people, through an agreed-upon Constitution, tell what the people can and cannot do.

In a communist government, the communist party tells the people what they can and cannot do.

Take your choice.

Gosh, where the heck have you been.

We are against the terrorists now. Not the coumunists.

Try to get on board and here is my suggestion: Whenever you are around liberals, just say "that's what the terrorists want you to think".

It's worked wonders for Fox News anchors who otherwise would be sweeping dog poo, oh and also for **** and George too.

There structure of United states supports capitalists. Communist parties are running to support poor, middle and general mass for their economic growth which is not suitable to them.

I don't think they are totally against communist governments in itself. However, if the government is perceived as a threat to other countries and especially towards itself, then they would be against that government management.
