Honey was found in Egyptian tombs that was still edible. This is why some people believe that it helps against aging. It can be good at fighting hay fever, and asthma as well.

Everything has an expiry date these days. That's so you will throw it away and buy new. Even though 'canned' goods are really good for up to 50 years, you are encouraged to throw them away after 3 years. The manufacturing process and government laws require the canning process to make goods that will last a very long time. That includes items in jars.
In a specific answer to your question of Honey however, they found some in a part of one of the pyramids, well over 3000 years old, and it was perfectly edible. So the answer depends on how you store it.

It is probably a legislative requirement. I found an expiry date on salt the other day! In Australia you can get honeys labeled with the type of tree flowering where the hives were placed. Red Gum is good, so is Yellow Box but the flowering weed called Salvation Jane or Paterson's Curse produces a peculiar tasting honey. The big producers are reliable though as their equipment and product is inspected fairly regularly.

I think honey is the only food that doesn't spoil. Sometimes it doesn't look so good after it has been on the shelf for a while. Just warm it up in the microwave and it will lose that grainy texture.Sioux Bee honey agrees with me saying that honey will keep indefinitely when kept at room temperature in a closed jar.

No, honey never goes off. If it gets hard & you can't spread it, just put the closed jar in a saucepan full of boiling water, then turn off the heat and wait till it cools. The honey will go back to normal.

Honey never goes bad. It might dry up or crystalize but such crystals have been found in ancient pottery.
