As a male chiming in, I dont know why, but it is somehow different if I ask them then if they ask me, irregardless of the circumstances surrounding the propsal. Something in the evolutionary wiring coupled with social norms and roles in a relationship.
I recommend doing the time tested method. have a mutual friend talk to him, let him know you like him, ande if he feels the same he should really, really ask you out in the next week or so (love is fleeting).
It works better if it is a mutual friend. A mutual male friend or a relative will work in a pinch. If he feels the same and is not involved with someone else, he will ask you out at the first opportunity no mater how shy he is (since he knows he won't be rejected). If he doesn't feel the same, he won't.

no u should never ask a boy 2 go out . its always that the boy asks u to go with him. bcuz when it comes to marriage . its obvious that the boy proposes u . so when u go for a date maybe u may wanna decide to get married so a boy should always ask to go out

I'm too shy!!! I tried once but I regretted it the second the words were out of my mouth! I guess its because I'm kind of old fashioned. I want guys to ask ME out. Lolz. But guys these days are such pansies. Haha. Do you ask guys out? If so, good for you!...
