So long as your body parts remain in shapes. But looks are total .Your face also should look the matching age .Physical age and mental age are related. If you mentally feel young and maintain shape, you are young for ever!If you feel mentally old the game is lost, body will follow.Secret of youth is keeping mind young.Think young and have friendhip and dealings with younger people, you will grow young!Try it .Good Luck

As one of the first mini skirt and hot pants brigade, I wore short skirts and knee length boots well into my thirties, but, there comes a day when your daughters are embarrassed and their turn is here, to be the peacock. Especially, if their boyfriends/husbands, pay you too many compliments. It doesn't do their tender, growing egos, much good!

That for me, was when I decided it was time to be discreet, and wear skirts just below the knee. I kept shorter stuff for summers in the garden with my husband.

My generation has already had our fun, and we stayed youthful longer. There is no harm in wearing trendy gear, or gear that enhances shape and makes us feel desirable, but, there is trendy and ridiculous, when our children feature on the scene.

One of the problems today is that the younger generation seems almost to feel displaced, because my own peer group, refuses to age gracefully.

At least with our own parents we knew the dividing line, we felt comfortable bringing people in, since all parents were 'motherly' and 'fatherly' and if they had secret yearnings, naughty thoughts, most of them were grown up enough to keep them in check.

That doesn't happen today, especially while people over fifty seek eternal youth and cling on, in desperation to the past.

If we could really see ourselves as others see us, as our children secretly see us, we might, just might, grow up!

And we might not have so many broken, emotionally damaged, resentful youngsters, such as those on the Opra and Jeremy Kyle type shows. No... I don't watch them, I just took one look and it was enough to make me want to vomit!

I felt so sad and angry, that my generation, has done so much damage to the world! Because I think we have.

As long as you still look young, short skirts are OK at any age- it's just when your age starts to show that short skirts are a bit----strange.
Dresses are OK at any age, but short dresses follow the same guidelines as mentioned above.

At any age that you feel comfortable and it's in the right company and the right situation. (I wouldn't wear a micro to a funeral if I were you) My gf has a hard time wearing flattering and sexy clothes because her ex was the jealous controlling possessive type and nobody better ever look at "his woman" and she better not dress "slutty". You're a grown woman and if men want to look I say let us. I encourage my gf to wear sexy and flattering clothes because I like to see what God gave her. I know who she will be with at the end of the day. I say as long you feel good about it, wear whatever in the hell you want.

Wear what you like and don't think so much in terms of 'acceptable'; most fashions when first invented or worn were controversial/unacceptable, especially the mini skirt now you mention it! Well wear what you like within reason...I mean would you catch a 90 year old wearing a halterneck and pink hot pants? =P

Short skirts and dresses are not defined by age - there are some young girls out there that shouldn't wear them at all!!!!!
Wear what you want when you want - it's up to no-one except you - if you look hot then keep doing it!!!

If your legs are still looking good then show 'em off! I cringe when i see women with cellulite etc on show - someone needs to tell them it dont look nice!

I dont think it's about age (unless your talking bum-skimmingly short which should be left to girls in their teens & 20's)

Basic rule of thumb...... wear what YOU'RE comfortable in.

I think mini skirts and midriff baring shirts are definitely out of the question after 40 no matter how fit you are.

It depends how short, and how good your legs are. Mutton dressed as lamb is definitely not a good look. If you're going to show off your legs, make sure it's in a way as sophisticated as you are. Be classy not trashy.

Dresses are acceptable at any age, i think. Skirts? Sometimes, if you have good taste. Minis? Well.....Depends on the situation
