To become more educated! Life and history don't stop just because you're a Christian. To be a Christian AND educated is most desirable, wouldn't you agree?

a better understanding in the nature of anything allows for a better knowlegde to seek out what man has put into the world and what 'god' has. a christian biologist would marvel at the engineering of simple cell, and therefore love the fact that evolution may be another way for a god to allow us to change.
To say a god made the world in seven days is a contradiction on the nature of god... gods are eternal and every moment is an infinite. a day to gods could be millions of years... perfecting a very flaud being such as humans would take too long even for greater beings.... but luckily im an existentialist running by their rules and ideology

Oh and dont believe that renee person, as the christian church has accepted the darwin theory, and mythology is in the old testimont... myths are stories handed down that have originated from somewhere... a giant could have been a 6 ft man as evolution has made us taller, cyclopes' may have been people who lost an eye and witches were a scape goat against science and pagans etc

Generally, a christian who also works in the hard biological sciences believes in evolution as the method of how organisms change over time. A belief in evolution however doesnt automatically require atheism, as while evolution may explain the proccess, it cannot adequately explain how that proccess ultimately began, and whether or not a God is neccessary for us to exist. The scientific method isnt opposed to religious inquiry or faith, it just isnt equipped to answer anything that isnt reducible to materialistic cause and effect.

It's also possible for a christian to enjoy mythologly as stories, and folkore, and even grant it a nature of revealed truth. C.S. Lewis comes to mind as an example of this type of person. They simply don't give that mythology any real value in a descriptive sense: it doesnt describe real or existing gods or deities.

Again, C.S. Lewis comes to mind. In the chronicles of narnia he took up many mythological themes and deitys and baptized them into a christian role. J R R tolkien also was a devout catholic, and worked with similar themes.

I think that those who enjoy so much simply dont see A causing B..that evolution requires christianity to be false, or that to enjoy mythology means to believe in the actual deities existence.

Choosing to believe in a religion, does not shut off your ability to understand concepts such as mythology or evolution, or to decrease an ability to enjoy those subjects, either. There are plenty of individuals that believe in all three. The law of non-contradiction doesn't apply here.

There are many many lessons to be learned from all types of sources. Why would you limit yourself to one reference point? And never know the meaning of "Well she really opened a Pandora's box there!" Or it's hot as Hades here. Or the fact that if you fly too close to the sun, you'll get burned (literally and metaphorically.) A censored amount of knowledge from one source is a dangerous way to live life. You are certainly not a heathen, Pagan, Satan worshiper or miscreant by learning all you can and going out in the world with an open mind. Who knows what treasures you can pluck from any story?

Except for idiot (the word is greek and means one who does not vote or by choice does not matter) christians there is as much reason to study mythology, or evolution, or most anything as for anyone else. All of these things, regardless of accuracy or validity, relate to human thought, culture, and development. Being a christian does not exempt one from being intelligent, informed, or thoughtful in spite of much popular opinion to the contrary.

Christians dont believe in Myths - which is why we dont believe in Evolution (Cos it's a Myth).

Jesus and the teaching of Scripture is no myth.

Get real - face facts - GOD EXISTS and YOU need him in your life.
