The title is "Lonesome Dove", no "the". It refers to a place named Lonesome Dove, not a particular bird. And I don't know how anyone can tell you how long it would take you to read it. Depends not only on your reading speed, but on how much time each day you can spend on it. In any case, READ IT. It's an incredible story, beautifully written.
