which came first, the antioca church or the roman catholic.How did protestants originate.How come antiocans are on a decline lately.

2. Christianity breaks up - Eastern churches (Antioch, Byzantine, etc.) break away; Western church controlled by Rome becomes "Catholic."

Fast forward several centuries.

3. Catholic church becomes extremely corrupt and political. Some people begin to ask for reform, and either part with the church or get kicked out. They become Protestants.

4. Protestants divide into groups according to theological differences, into the many different groups that exist today.

5. Roman Catholic Church begins to reform from within and makes an attempt at fixing the corruption that led to the Protestant movement in the first place.
