Are you asking whether there can possibly be a situation in which the only way for one to survive would be to kill a human being (whether that human being deserves it or not)? If so, then the answer is clearly yes.

Just as clear, however, is the fact no such situation need ever necessarily arise.

The law of self-defence recognises that a person has a basic right to repel an attack upon their person or property. The common law has historically accepted that a person who kills another in legitimate self-defence is acting lawfully and should be acquitted of any charge of unlawful homicide.

We never need to kill, only help each other. Self defence is stupid excuse to kill!! We use self defence for defending oursleves but never to kill the offender!! Life is precious to everyone and if you ever slaughter anyone, no matter what she or he did your life will change 4ever!!
So my answer is no, we don't need to kill to survive even to eat an animal is killing but we don't need to kill it because we can have vegetable and fruit and our lives will be healthy and safe for eternity.

Depends on where you live. If you're dead poor, struggling, and stuck in the middle of a warzone then yeah, maybe you have to fight, steal, scratch, and claw your way just to survive the next day.

If you're living in the suburbs with a roof over your head with a meal to eat everyday, then no... You don't.

Self defense training is great way to channel your energy towards something positive, but only do it because you want to improve yourself and teach yourself how to deal with situations in life so you don't end up in a place where you're forced to kill to survive.

Are you speaking of kill or murder. There is a huge difference. Kill can be accidental. Murder is intentional.

Do we need to murder to survive? No, not typically. Sometimes it is necissary to stop something which will murder us eventually. (A self defense against a future threat)

Do we need to kill to survive? No, not typically. Sometimes it is necissary to kill a current threat. (A self defense against a current threat)

Do we need to murder in self defense? This isn't murder. it's killing. (We arn't planning towards their death, it is in reaction at the moment of their threat)

Do we need to kill in self defense? Yes.

If an unprovacated aggressor aims to kill me--I then have the right to defend myself with ANY measure of force. If my degree of force STOPS the aggressor and holds him/her to where they can do no more harm until law enforcement arrives to haul them off...well, that's great.

However, if my degree of self-defense kills the same deadly aggressor....well, that's OK too. I have the right to keep this creep from killing me...and I'll do it with NO moral questions.
