The Bush Administration's approach to Global Warming:

Do you feel President Bush was responsible for a disinformation campaign to dismiss Environmental concerns around 2004? Why or why not?

If so, what should be done about it?

So far, many of you have responded that leaders withhold information, etc etc.
This is understood, but not the question I am asking.

Specifically, based on the video provided, do you believe President Bush (and his people) began a campaign to disinform the public about the Environment? (Despite what the scientific community had already stated and confirmed).

The video seems pretty compelling and accurate. Is there anything we should question about it? And if it is true, what should we do?

President Clinton was impeached by the House for lying. What about President Bush? Has he not done far worse? What are we waiting for???

Clinton KNEW he was lying both under oath & to the press.

It is debateable on the global warming. Many scientist still argue over it. As recently as the 70's they where saying the same things that are causing global warming was causing the coming iceage.

Both governments and the press put spin on the facts & they call it news.

I've written both sides of the aisle to tell them what it takes to change the economics of Renewable Energy. Fienstein answer as she patted herself on the back had done exactly what I said would only cause our electric bill to skyrocket. She hadn't changed the economics of Renewable Energy.

One can complain about the capitalist system or think how to use it to create the world you want. One guaranties nothing will happen the other may change the world.

I took my hint from the documentry Cadillac Desert. I'm using sellable spin-off benefits to change the economics. The only bigger economic disaster for the investor than expecting Renewable Energy to be directly economically viable is not to have a replacement for fossil fuel.

It has been proved on many occassions that in general all Governments will decide on certain matters not to disclose all information to the general public. They will withhold information; often they think for your own good.

In all honesty, I'm not really interested in knowing everything, but I really feel that in matters that will concern global issues, they should be fully open. Global warming is an issue where we should open up to a global debate, so we can come with resolutions. How come cars are not already running on water? Technically this is possible.

By using your vote, you can change things.

If you listen to radio Havana, Cuba, you will hear all kinds of propaganda. Then if you tune into radio America you will hear all kinds of propaganda, so what is the truth, it lies somewhere in the middle, as I am sure the truth about global warming is. I do think that man has effected climate change but is not wholly responsible for it, I also think there are things man could do to lessen its impact, and the Bush administration refused in favor of big business.

Our government does provide disinformation and cover ups about Enviromental concerns and many other issues. Everyone of voting age should register to vote and cast their ballots in elections. Choose candidates who take environmental and other issues seriously and care to try to do something about those issues. Did anyone see an Inconvienient Truth? If you haven't seen it then you might want to.

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country"

ALL governments are responsible for disinformation.

If we started prosecuting politicians for lying, we'd have to run the damned place ourselves.
