Many people have used words like "unsavoury", "diving", "cheating" when talking about the Italians here. I just want to know what is this based on seeing as in this particular world cup (apart from the De Rossi red card) I haven't seen them behaving particularly badly and, in fact, would say that one of the reasons they have got so far is the positive and concrete way they have reacted to the more physical tactics thrown at them and the fact that they seem to have eliminated most of their characteristic play acting. Am I wrong or have they got better?

I think the penalty award against Australia was their undoing. Apart from that I think they have been pretty fair and played some positive football. Maybe the background of the scandal in their domestic competition has motivated them to present a better picture of Italian football.

They have always been like this. Ull c how people will always remind u of the dive against aussie ( i think it was a dive too). People just hate them because they always get far in major tournaments (World Cup 2002 they were cheated out 4 onside goals dissalowed). You should look at the fouls they have comitted and other teams have comitted and ull see how clean they are.

Certainly based on the performance against Germany they showed that they could play without the usual theatrics. I think that was due largely to the ref. If they get a ref who falls for their normal tricks, they will be back to the diving etc like a dog going back to it's vomit.

They stopped doing the acting during the recent Germany vs. Italy match. I don't know why. Anyways...I was originally against them because of their theatrics, but they managed to play a good clean game and still win. I was pleasantly surprised.

To me, they shouldn't be in the final.

When they scored a penalty against Australia in the last minute on injury time, it was NOT a penalty - he dived.

It was cheating as far as I'm concerned. Although I blame the referee as much as the players.

listen, Italians do not cheat. I dont cheat, I'm Italian. The italian soccer team has played amazingly, and anyone who disagrees is just jealous or mad that they're there.

FORZA ITALIA!

I would love to agree with you, but I think you are wrong.

The 94th minute penalty awarded to them against Australia was clearly a dive.
