Are people no longer making their own judgments and decisions because of how much is being promoted on every single thing you watch on TV and everywhere around them: from sweets to morals to ways of life?

At what point in history have people made their own judgments and decisions? Aren't we manipulated and conditioned by our families, schools, churches and communities every day? That was happening long before television and still does in cultures that don't access to television and the internet.

Yes,you are absolutely right.people are surrounding by ads, commercials.TV,radio and Internet, especially Internet compose the world to a small circle.TV is already horrible enough to follow Talk Show hosts or hostress,News from the Station's opinion,we don't want to think or judge by our mind, conscious, observation any more.If we blame on TV,but compare with Internet,TV is far behind,we see something unbelievable, disgusting, uncontrolled. We can even see human's head chopped down, people's privacy equal to zero, people's mistakes, error, problem are always in front of the world but did we spend a little bit of time to think or may be there's a sad story behind the scene you view,we just don't care about other people's sadness, pain, because our own decisions made by other people.

Wrong. You are young, I can tell. In the "old days" there was one acceptable way of behaving or doing things; no deviations from the accepted norm allowed. Children born out of wedlock were "bastards", women who were raped "had it coming", children who suffered abuse had no choice but to endure because "to spare the rod [would] spoil the child." Cops were always right, politicians only had the people's best interest at heart. We went to war "to fight the good fight", no questions asked. So on and so forth. Today we know enough to at least "check under the carpet" for nasties that may have been swept underneath while we weren't looking.

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country"

KFC did lure into eating at their restuarant.....

I've always made my own decisions about what I wear and how I look. But I'm also extremely strong minded...... or stubborn as everyone else puts it. It's up to the individual person to decide to follow, lead, or get lost in the woods.

I don't think people these days are... they try too hard trying to "fit in" or try so hard being the "most noticed"

I say "F-it" and just be who you are and wear/do what ever you want... So in my opinion, alot of the world has become conformed into a society in which reputation and style has all become the top priority. As to myself, I just live life to however it comes... and what ever happens... happens.
