My ex husband owes a couple of thousand of dollars in back support, today I went to friend of the court to have them help me collect it. They told me because I was not receiving welfare that there is a no enforcement policy when someone is recieving SSI! Is this true has anyone else heard of such crap? If this is not true how can I fight Friend of the Court decision?

My ex-husband owed me like 45,000.00. I chased him through 7 states and just bugged the heck out of Child Support. When he walked out on me & our 4 children, I had no choice but to go on welfare but they helped me get into college in which I went for Medical Assistant. Everytime his wages were attached, he would quit. Eventually, he went for his SSI and Maryland Child Support attached his SSI for $200.00 a month. The support order was for $157.00 a week but he wasn't paying that so the $200 was better then nothing. Just keep pushing, you'll get it!!
