The only thing a cosigner gets is screwed if you fail to repay. Ask someonein your own family. Are you A non US citizen coming here or vise versa? Regardless what school are you going to? Anyone with some intelligence would know why people would say Hell No

it's hard to cosign. its a very risky business. unless your cosigner is an immediate relative i don't think anybody would do it. not even your best friend. lots of things in this world is not permanent. you maybe well off now but no one knows whats your financial status later. and cosigning is a big headache if the person you cosign for becomes broke or unable to pay his periodic payment. maybe thats what they are thinking why they don't like to cosign.

No, it's NOT okay. If your credit was decent you wouldn't need a co-signer. If the bank doesn't trust you, why would you think a stranger would? (How do you walk with balls that big?)

I would never co-sign for anyone. If my family needed money I would give it to them.
