My younger sister did a bit of modeling a couple of years ago and got a lot of calls through this site. That said, be REALLY careful because some of the calls might come from not-so-reputable photographers. Do a lot of research on photographers before you agree to do a test.

Models need to be very tall and very slim. You can earn more money with acting. TV commercials and movies are your best bet, Model agencies can help you with information on how to get started with acting. My daughter started as a model at 15 but put on weight so turned to acting and has appeared in many commercials and TV shows.They pay much better than modeling work unless you are at the top of the ladder. Looks are not so important for this but acting talent is what counts.

In a word: No. You're best off trying local yellow pages for accredited modeling agencies. But let the model beware of the denziens of con artists lurking about here.

You should just try using Myspace.com alot of people use that now-a-days... If you're trying to get well known... your best bet is to just make a myspace account... put what you want people to know about you... put some model pix up... get feedback from people you've requested as a friend.
And Join groups and all that... myspace.com does alot more then just keep in touch with friends... other then that... my next best bet would be to go on Google and just google model industries

you might try meeting other models and getting advice..i have a friend who is a great model and she belongs to several myspace groups to network with the modeling community and make new connections. -sometimes it is who you know...heres a url for one of the groups: http://groups.myspace.com/AllForModelz
