That sounds about right to me, but it depends on what you call "modern humans" and if by "cloths" you mean "clothes". To cover our selves with cloth-- or cloths-- presupposes the invention of weaving, but in the matter of clothing-- including feathers, animal skins, what have you-- the very earliest graves of homo sapiens that have been uncovered and studied reveal evidence of body coverings, well before the "modern era" (defined, historically, as the time following the Renaissance in Europe in the 14th century.) It seems that our late cousins, the Neandertals, might also have covered their bodies sometimes, but I am really not sure. The tendency of early humans to wear clothes might have something to do with the desire to control sex drives, but, on the other hand, primitive tribes that go nearly nude nevertheless have extensive sexual taboos and prohibitions. I have read anthropological articles indicating that clothing, like tattoos and scar patterns on the skin, originally was used to identify ones membership and status within the group, or perhaps had some now-forgotten ceremonial or religious significance.

Whether or not you beleive in what the Bible says... the fact is that, at first, man found no shame in being naked because it was their nature.. The moment that both Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the forbidden tree, they could distinguish from right and wrong ans immediatly knew that they were naked and covered themseles up.... A little off topic, but have you ever wondered why humans are the only species to have different languages??? Any typr of dog, cat, goat, or hippo can communicate with any other given species of the same animal.. It was God that created the different languages in order to confuse these people who tried to over-power and/or over-throw God by building the Tower of Babel...

Hermit crabs have been acquiring shells from other animals long before humans were around.
And there are decorator crabs that add plants, animals, and debris to their shells as camouflage.
And there is the question of why hominids developed clothing. Was it to cover themselves to prevent sexual attraction? Or was it when they dressed themselves to stay warm and protect themselves from the environment. The prevention of sexual attraction may have been an after thought.
And given that Neanderthals dressed themselves but DNA evidence indicates that they are not likely to be of the Modern Human lineage you speak of.
And then there are modern humans, primitives, that do little more than cover their groins. Is it to prevent sexual attraction. Or is it to prevent sunburn. Ouch!

first of all, i opt to clean up a false impression. The Mi'raj, or ascension of Muhammad, peace be upon him, is to not the "sky". that's a non secular journey contained in direction of the vertical airplane of heavenly spheres. In Islam this airplane we exist on is nasrut or the airplane of human beings and happen life, the different planes even have names and varieties of life and beings which stay there. Secondly, Muhammad (pbuh) did not "see" God, yet particularly became led to the component of the presence of God. In Islam God has no actual kind so hence you are able to not see God yet particularly be extra into understanding. this might mean a non secular holiday as properly as a actual one and this debate is ongoing. that's exciting nonetheless to observe that this night of ascension or "Laylat al Mi'raj" in Arabic is properly known on the twenty seventh of the Islamic Month of Rajab which this 12 months (2006) falls around the 22 of August. Peace and advantages, Salim

Caddis fly larvae build little jackets for themselves out of whatever materials are available locally, woven together with strands of silk that they produce themselseves. They do this for protection from predators and environmental conditions, rather than modesty.
Whether or not this qualifies as clothes depends largely on your defintion of 'clothing'.
