Dear Chef:

The internet is like France: They aren't going to fight in person, but they'll sure as hell put up a stink otherwise, especially if they can hide. And what better place then to hide in your bedroom?

People should be friendly and diplomatic until provoked. Also, all we have here are our meager little black and white symbols to represent us.

In reality, people treat each other much differently (and much better usually) in person because it's obvious they are human like you are.

Here, we're dealing with soulless avatars who all look 24 and smile incessantly as if on meth. So we tend to see them as such.

We don't see the real human behind the mask so it takes an extra effort to just be kind. Many cannot do it and others don't care one way or the other.

However, as with every action and word uttered in the universe, there is a cost. You may not be able to see it but it's there.

Just do the best you can and maintain your own intregrity, that's all you can control.

Now I'm off to beat up some internet punks. Consider yourself deputized and keep fighting!

The Sheriff

The internet gives people that don't feel powerful in their real lives a place to come and boss people around. Not everyone is like that, but some are. Others are bullies on and off the interent.

People behave the way they do on the internet because the internet allows them to act and say things they would not necessarily do in person. It provides them with a "comfort zone" that allows them to be uninhibited in expressing themselves, their beliefs, and their darker side.

It's like one big experiment in human behaviour.

I call it Internet Courage... because they know they will never see you so they can say what they want and don't have to worry about getting punched in the face.

I don't know. Maybe they lead stressed lives and this is the only place they can let it out. I think they need a few hobbies, like puzzles!

Why do you want them to be easy? Are they easier in real life? Or did you think things would be easier out here, people are same everywhere, they are just more honest out here.
