Is the wife immediately entitled to her husbands Social Security after his death.?

..or does she have to wait till she is eligible, thats until she is 65. The husband right now is on SS and the wife doesnt work.

She gets it after his death and if there are children, they get some too.

Whatcha askin for? He isn't dead yet, and if she's that "concerned" about money, why not have her call up the SS office and anonymously ask?

no, if I remember correctly, she would be elligible for survivor benefits.
