i downloaded mozilla firefox with there promises of faster web surfing and page downloads. my home page has always been yahoo. i think mozilla firefox slowed everything down to a screeching halt. what do you think?

Firefox does not promise faster speeds, but it assures you a better user experience compared to IE. NO pop ups or unwanted sites open up, as well as far better security from mallicious script. But it is just as fast or better than IE in page downloads depending on your system settings as well as how you maintain the software.
I would suggest that you try out opera 9 for a much quicker page downloads compared to IE or firefox.

Actually, internet explorer is somewhat faster starting up.
The benefit of mozilla/firefox is that there are less computer viruses attacking it as it has a smaller customer base.

You are 100% correct. Contrary to the lies the the "Firefox Fanboys" are always spewing, tests have shown that IE is clearly faster then Firefox. Look here:

mozilla is ok but i started to used opera search it is stars way faster and well everything is better.....it can even be reconized as mozilla or IE...
almost any browser is better than IE but yea opera is less know than firefox but much better....

sounds like something is just wrong with your pc- u might also try Opera it is great too -but not as popular an alternative to IE as firefox is

Firefox is way better than IE. So if it doesn't work with you, stay with the browser you are more comfortable with.

i don't thnik so.. Internet explorer sucks !!
Firefox provides you faster web browsing, faster downloads, better security than Internet explorer.
and most important Efficient tab browsing.
