Man risks poisoning taking shots with the devil for increasing amounts of money?

I read a short story when I was young about a man who starts out with 'X' shots of liquor and is told that one shot is poisoned. He continues to come back to the devil and risk his life taking shots so that he can get more money. Don't want to ruin the story but if anyone knows the name of this story please tell me.
