Tobacco. And for a bonus, it was John Rolfe's idea, and he ended up marrying Pocahontas, who's later name was Rebecca...
Anyway, the tobacco was important to Jamestown, because after all, it was the whole point of Jamestown- to make a profit.

It wasn't Indian princesses, though Pocahontas was a big hit in London social circles. So, it must be that foul weed tobacco that Sir Walter Raleigh and many others got addicted to.
