Your summer doesnt really sound so bad too me, in the grand scheme of things. Compare your summer with the people in North Korea, dying of starvation. Or how about the people in Darfur, being systematically slaughtered via ethnic cleansing? Or think back to WW2, the Jews that were put into Hitlers ovens. Now that was a bad summer.
Your summer isn't really so bad afterall, now is it?

It's winter here in Australia, but I'm on my school break. There was so much I wanted to do during my summer break, but I just slacked off and didn't end up doing anything, but lazing around and watch TV. It also seems that the more I did that, the worse I got. I had so many plans and I didn't stay true to any of them. I regret it, but intend to move on. The only problem is that I'm making the same mistake that I was making during the summer break. I'll tell you how I intend to break the cycle, so that you may possibly take something from my plan (that I hopefully don't break:)).
1- Wake up early- I did that today and it makes the world of difference! Not only does it give you the opportunity to get more done, there's nothing on TV and that doesn't distract you. You also feel fresh and motivated when you wake up.
2- Have a siesta- Research is beginning to acknowledge the benefits of a siesta. You should have a 20 minute nap at midday, as it is summer and you can avoid the hottest time of the day. Scientists have discovered that it not only refreshes you, but increases mental acuity, reaction and productivity and is a long time practice in China and Mexico.
3- Drink 8 cups of water a day- I have found that water provides me with a sudden burst of motivation as dehydration can deplete energy levels and I feel that when I'm dehydrated I feel extremely bored and depressed.
4- Cut down on TV- I'm a huge fan of TV, but at the same time I don't want to limit my productivity.
5- Read- It's a great way to relax and you'll get inspired by each book. Based on what career you want to pursue, read autobiographies on successful people in your particular industry.
6- Reserve some "me time"- Focus on your hobbies, meditate...whatever you like!
7- Enjoy the summer- It only comes once a year!
I hope that helps. You only live once. Don't waste it...you'll regret it later!! Good Luck :)

Maybe you should look at the positive things. You aren't dead. You aren't starving. You aren't in the witness protection program...I'm guessing. Be thankful for what you have now. When you get older you won't have a summer vacation. Unless, you are a teacher in which case you will be underpaid and overworked. Enjoy being bored. It's better than being an adult...or in the witness protection program.

Sounds like my summers before I moved out. My parents had me for the sole purpose of babysitting my brothers. Makes me never want to have kids.
If your sister is crying all the time and you've fed her, changed her diaper, and she has toys for a baby, you need to tell your mom. There might be something else wrong.
And... to answer the question...All summers suck once you join the workforce. I even had to work on the 4th of July.

I am having a bad summer, but not because I'm bored. I lost my uncle to death 2 months ago, my grandfather to death this month, and the day that my grandfather died, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and needs a masectomy .

I was having a horrible summer...but I sucked up my problems and refused to let them get me down. Find something that will bring you peace. That is all I can offer you. But you must choose whether you are going to let it get you down or not.

my summer is not going that badly.
i remember my worst summer was spent fixing my parents house. it was horrible but now i look fondly upon that experience as a period of personal growth. hopefully you will see the experience of this summer in the same light.
