I really hope France wins the World Cup. I'm British but live in France and since the World Cup began I have heard so many French people, even well-educated ones, moaning that their team isn't very good this year. Why? Firstly because the players are over-paid spoilt kids and secondly because there are too many ' blacks'.
Coming from a multi-cultural background I find this sort of out-spoken prejudice unbelievable, but then a lot of French feel a threat to their culture and language which they think is superior to most, if not all, others. I should imagine that muslim players in the team would cause the same reaction which is why this year, I say "Allez les Bleus!"

I'll answer since I'm French. I will admit that some French people, a small minority may have xenophobic attitudes. But I am willing to bet that Le Pen himself probably has no problems with the religion of the French players. And I am absolutely sure that it's probably such an insignificant amount of people that it bothers, that they are not worth a mention. And what exactly prompted you to ask such a xenophobic question? I must say that I am quite amazed with your question. It borders on the BNP.

What has someones religion got to do with either football or their nationality?
It seems to only be Muslims who have an issue with being Muslims as you guys talk about it ALL the time, and the rest of us don't care what you are.

People go to football games to see their team`s play, not to stand around asking which player belong`s to what religion, I can honestly say I would have never thought about it if you had not asked your question. As someone else answered religion has nothing to do with football.
