A Chilton's manual will give you the approved labor time estimate for a given job or replacement. Typically, labor is 75-150 per hour of work.

It will give you specific times for specific vehicles, based on Industry Standards, for Flat-Rate(or Shop Rate) repairs. Most repair facilities have this guide handy, and the good ones use it frequently. Flat Rate can vary from market to market, but is typically 60 to 80 dollars per hour.
