Hey, I'm eighteen and feel the same way. Though, I like more of the music from the '90s, but the '70s and '80s were really great. Don't get me wrong, I can actually still find some decent music from modern musicians, but what you hear on the radio these days does suck. It's just a watered down, dumbed version of music with crappy lyrics. I hate to say it, but when it comes to mainstream nowadays, originality is pretty much out of the picture.

Hi, i'm a big fan of the 70's, anything from ABBA, Bee Gees, Elton John, Earth,Wind & Fire, Bread, Jackson 5's, Aretha Franklin are my favourites...
I felt there's more substance when it comes to thier lyrics and more subtle in thier deliverance, and quite seldomly you'll find song's that's informative as then compared now, but don't get me wrong, to be fair, there's still existence of some pretty good singers/song writers like John Legend, Alicia Keys, Mariah C, Dido, Steve Martin of Coldplay, and not forgetting, even there are rappers that can deliver their message like Will I Am of Black Eyed Peas , Jaz-Z, Kanye W and the list goes on....as i'm still a good fan of hip hop/ soul music....
All i'm saying is that, Music is a diversify feild, and it's really up to a person's taste,....and nobody should justify nobody's choice when it comes to an individual prefence .....

I'm 28, I mostly like music from the 90's and some from the 80's and 70's. I don't like much of the new stuff either, it's boring.

I completely agree. All of the music today is about relationships and drugs mostly. Some even is so degrading to women at times that I find myself turning off the radio. I miss the older music that had real messages. Why must the times change?

I think you're an idiot for thinking that 70s and 80s music is good, however you would be even more of an idiot if you thought that modern music is good. If you like powerful, emotional music, listen to Wagnerian Opera. It is the most magnificent music in the world. I recommend Der Ring Des Nibelungen, Parsifal, and Lohengrin.

man, i kinda agree with you. i'm 17 and i love oldies music, esp. the temptations, jerry lee lewis, george gershwin, billie holiday, pink floyd, and elvis... hell, i like classical music too, but i think that is off topic. anyway, there is some good recent music out there, it just takes a lot of finding.

I hear you but you should try to accept new music but it's not the end of the world or anything. It is true about passion, now itis more about money n' stuff.
