Read up on the Ancient Egyptians (6000+ years ago); Ancient Greeks (3000+ years ago); Ancient Romans (2000+ years ago) and their cultures and then consider withdrawing this question as written.

Man started it. There's indications that it has been around as far back as the Roman Empier.
Every country, every society has homosexual men and homosexual women. For centurys most people hid it from family and friends and the public. Only in the last 20 years have people gotten more open. The aids epidemic had a lot to do with it too. Many men had to finally come out because they were being infected with an illness that was only showing up in Gay men. Now that our society knows that we exist, we only feel that it is our right to be accepted. Not necessarily approved of, but at least accepted and being no different that anyone else except in one aspect.
I think it's sad when a society is fully acceptable of murderers, rapists, child molesters , but they can't accept homosexuals.
I find that to be moraly wrong.

Where did you get the idea that homsexuality was something new? It has come into the open much more in the last 35 years or so. The turning point in this country was 1969, when the Stonewall Riots brought about the first civil rights movement for gay and lesbian people. Until that point, it was hidden and spoken about quietly. But there have been homosexuals as long and history can remember.
Did you miss Alexander the Great?

WOW
Reality time: Homosexuality has existed since early human, and probably pre-human times. It even exists in most animal species (see Dr. Bruce Bagemihl; "Biological Exuberance;" St. Martin's Press)
Homosexuality was an accepted part of most ancient cultures, and was not really rejected by the Church until the Black Plague made every single reproduction important to the survival of Christendom -- or so the fragments of early Church history we have indicates. (things like same sex couples being buried in graveyards, marriage plaques between male knights, and so forth -- it was only observable in the upper class at the time -- and no shock there since anyone lower than that just screwed who they wanted and left no record.)
Nevertheless, it just went underground. For example, King Edward II and his male lover are believed by many historians to have been put to death for buggery (homosexuality), and the love of Richard the Lionhearted and Philip of France is well known.
Clubs where homosexuals could meet are historically part of every major city and the broadsheets condemning them after the creation of the printing press are reflected in our own continued battle over the morality of homosexuality.
The MODERN GAY RIGHTS MOVEMENT, a completely different thing than homosexuality, started with the Stonewall Rebellion in 1972 and continues to this day.

Homosexuality is ANCIENT!!!! If you've read the bible, it talks about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (where we get "Sodomy")--two angels came to visit Lot in the city of Sodom. All the men of the city, young and old, came to Lot's house and knocked on the door, saying "Let those two men come out to us, so that we can have sex with them."
It didn't just start.

No one started it. It has been around since the beginning of time. It's just that you never heard about it until recently because people had to hide it.

Homosexuality was one of the reasons that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. So since almost the beginning of time.
