Luis Figo of Portugal - he is the one who brought back international recognition back to portugal after Eusebio almost single handedly. The most unfortumnate one also as Portugal has come so close winning the european championship as well as 2006 world cup.

Who else but Zidane. he has simply been a joy to watch. The fact that at 34 he can do what he does is amazing. He is 34, he looks 44, and he plays like he's 24. Its been great to see him dominating the games against spain, brasil, and now Portugal. I was so glad he didnt get a yellow card today, it would have been a tragedy if he missed the finals. The aura that Pele has around him today will be similar to what Zidane will have in the future. Our Grandchildren will be really impressed when we tell them that we saw the great Zidane play in the 2006 Final.

The Germans.. Klose, Ballack, Podolski, Lehmann, etc.
But my ultimate favorite is Philipp Lahm for some inexplicable reason. He's just this tiny guy who works so hard running up and down the field playing both defense and offense, and he's absolutely lovable :).

Cristiano ronaldo for his amazing footwork and speed.
del piero...the big daddy of the italians.... zambrotta and totti are up there too...
but my fav is buffon...the italian goalee... he's too good with his athleticism and the way he prevents goals... i guess every opponent team needs to keep in mind that they are already a goal down the moment they face buffon coupled with the italian defence and their emerging attack.... its italy all the way..... the world cup is theirs....

Argentina's Messi, if only he had a chance to show his skills against Germany, but that stupid coach had to take of 2 strikers and put in a freakin' defender and defending midfielder, I mean, how the hell can you take off Crespo and not put in Messi?
