The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is a really good read. I couldn't put it down. I think I read the whole book in three days. It has a unique perspective. It is the only book I have ever read where the main character is not living. It is the story of a girl who dies and goes to heaven where she watches her family go through the mourning process. I don't want to give too much of the plot away. I know it sounds depressing, but honestly it is a wonderful book.

Gone With The Wind, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, etc.

Anything by L.M. Montgomery. If you've read the Anne and Emily series already, then you might try some of her other novels, or her collections of short stories. They are great. Some are romantic. Some are funny. I like her novel A TANGLED WEB.

I suggest Eugenia Price. She has a series that goes through the beginning of the nineteenth century (1806ish) through the Civil War. The first book is Savannah. The series is great, and I absolutely loved it as a teenager. (She's a Christian too)

You might already be familiar with the work of Janette Oke, but if you're not you might enjoy her work. She has many series. Mostly pioneer stories. They're very good.

Frank Peretti has many novels available. Some of his novels include This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, the Prophet, the Oath, the Visitation, monster, and house. I've read all but his latest, House. My favorites are The Visitation, This Present Darkness, and Piercing the Darkness. All are action-packed, and some are definitely in the thriller category.

E. T. A. Hoffmann: Devil's Elixir
I think this suits the best all the 3 criteria you gave. It's a thriller with a love subplot taking place in the Medieval Ages, and the main character is a talented priest-to-be, who is tempted by the devil... It's a great suspending classic, you must read it.

For the love stories......
Danniel Steele's 'To Love Again'....its purely romantic tragedy,
'Pride and Prejudice' or 'Mansfield Park' by Jane Austen are the comic romance and romance respec.
'Common Passions' whch has a lot of suspense too
and even the entire series of Sidney Sheldon and especially 'The Sands Of Time' and 'Nothing Lasts Forever' is a great mixture of suspense....romance and the courtroom drama.
For historic one's
I liked 'Illyiad' by Homer.......
slightly romantic ones are....'Sweet Treason' by Marie-Louise Hall....and 'The Deserted Bride' by Paula Marshall....its a good 1!

Dragonjousters series(joust, alta, sanctuary) by Mercedes Lackey. The setting is ancient Egypt.Hunger, anger, and hatred are constants for young Vetch, rendered a brutally mistreated and overworked serf by the Tian conquest of his homeland. But everything improves when a Tian jouster requisitions Vetch to become the first serf ever to be a dragon boy. His training is intense, and his duty clear-cut: to tend his jouster, Ari, and his dragon, Kashet. He discovers that, because Ari himself had hatched Kashet, the dragon is different from others that have been captured live in the wild and must be drugged to be made tractable. Vetch finds he really likes and understands dragons, and soon he becomes the best dragon boy of all. He still harbors anger, however, toward the Tian invasion. Could he, perhaps, hatch a dragon, and then escape to help his people?

Scaramouche by Rafael Sabatini. When his best friend, a young clergyman, is killed in a mockery of a duel by an arrogant noble, just to quiet his eloquent expressions of democratic ideals, Andre-Louis Moreau vows revenge.
