I have trouble with a loud groaning noise coming from somewhere in the front of the car when both the AC and the CD player is on. It's worse when accelerating through the first couple of gears. This is in a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. Is this normal?

Does it do this when both the AC and CD player is off? is so, then it is not normal, but not electrical, but if it doesn't then take the car to a garage or dealer and let them put it on the computer. Find out exactly what is wrong with it. Make sure to use big name company's like Midas, or some type of shop that won't screw you over.

Sounds like the alternator has a bad bearing. Take off the serpentine belt and check all pulleys. The bad one will be noticable when you spin it. Good luck.
