I can't belive what I have just seen. During the Portugal / France game Chritiano Ronaldo spent more time trying to con the referee than anything else. Do you think that these cheats should be punished retrospectively ( for Brazil Rocks that means after the event). In other words could we use video technology to punish players after the game and then deduct points or goals from their teams. Otherwise the cheats will continue to prosper.

Yeah, I totally understand what you're saying. I've been getting so tired of seeing the portuguese team constantly diving and faking that I was glad to see the ref would have none of it. I wish there was some form of punishment to bring down the amount of diving because it takes so much away from a game. I understand it's a part of the game but when there are players who are constantly doing this then I'd like to see them repremanded. You can't be that great a player if you constantly have to try to get fouls in order to win. That ref today was great!

They are already prospering. It is such an accepted part of the game now which is so sad and wrong. Football is about playing the game, not learning how to manipulate rules to your advantage. I mean really as much as we joke about it, they are taught from an early age to do this which is ridiculous. Great way to show our youngsters how to play the game. I'm sure the old players, the pioneers would be horrified at how these theatrical tactics are now such a huge part of the game and of winning. Yep I say replay by officials after the match( bcoz too many people are against the introduction of technology...wonder why?) and either fine or suspend them. The practice will stop soon enough and we can get back to watching football played the way it should be.

Ronaldo is a **** and even the France fans were booing him last night.

The diving by Portugal and Italy players has been the lowlight of this comp for me.

Scolari talked about the Portugeuse warrior spirit.....that must be the kind of warrior who falls to the ground writhing in agony clutching their face and crying when a butterfly touches them.

We do need video refs.

By the way as far as the Rooney foul goes, how can you intentionally stamp on someones groin when you are facing the other way and trying to get up? Lets get an official studying that one too.

Not a moaning English fan either as we didnt play well enough to win and our penalties were crap.

Certainly both FIFA and UEFA should take action against cheats to stamp this out of the game. Portugal have really let themselves down very badly with their histrionics and taken cheating to a new level. For us the best way to deal with it is to let Ronaldo know what we think of him at every Premiership ground next season just as the French did last night.

i totally agree with you. the antics of the portuguese last night was shocking. these players should be banned for one game if they are caught diving. do it again, a 3 game ban and a fine. and if they STILL do it after that a 6month ban.
it is just demoralising as a fan to sit and watch that performance. i'm a liverpool fan and to think we are being linked with simao really annoys me. he fell like he was shot last night, looking for a penalty, even though there was no one else near him.
this world cup was supposed to be clamping down on divers but the main culprits, spain, holland, cough, robben, cough, argentina and portugal have gotten away with almost every single incident. if fifa don't take action then the game will suffer.

if i was a player and got sent off because a player dived, then i'd make sure i got sent off for a reason. (shakes fist).

come on france and germany!

Since when is defending your position on a call cheating. Maybe he did go a bit overboard but cheating - I don't think so. In fact he did take a hard foul in the game that the referee didn't call for whatever reason.

There's a cheat in the World Cup! Type in "ENGLAND 4 GERMANY 2" before the referee blows the final whistle and you get unlimited substitutions!

Yes it is, but the penalty kick of France has received by the act of foul you know, which turn around the game results. Referees are short tempered and their decisions are unjustiable certain times, but it makes great changes.

No we can't do that. You remember the Super Bowl right Number 7 cheated and when the referee called for a touchdown it was a touchdown and no one could do a thing about it.

If something to kill off cheating is done the better (to my mind right now come the cristiano ronaldo acting, henry's fake foul by puyol and grosso's diving) these accidnets are ruining the game actually and fifa has to do something
