I had one and the only thing I didn't like was the built in mouse tended to fail.

Toshiba's have been one of my favorite brands for laptops. I still have one that still works that is 7 years old now. The battery still holds a charge. Performance is good, it all depends on what processor you are getting and how much ram. I am not a big Sony fan as the other one. Sony parts are just horrible for laptops. I like their Playstations and tvs and stuff but just hate how poor of quality their laptops are.

i have used other brands known and unknown (dell, hp, toshiba, ibm, compaq, fujitsu, nec, etc...) just bought a laptop a month ago and it's a toshiba, it's working great, very satisfied with it. like the other guy not a sony vaio fan heard from friends who bought vaio bad feedbacks, i would choose sony though for there ps and tv, i have a ps, ps2 and wega at home.
