Fast Break (not sure how impressive this one is)
Hoosiers
One on One

and to a lesser extent "The Great Santini"...not really a basketball movie per se, but there is a great scene involving a basketball game.

Impress him with fundamentals... not much of the fancy stuff actually helps you in games, except not telegraphing your passes (see Magic Johnson).
But around the back dribbling is always useful.

Master the fundamentals, i.e.. Ballhandling (both hands), passing, shooting technique, etc...

If you learn to do these well, the rest will fall into place and you'll get better and better!! Good Luck

you really wanna impress all i can say is good defense, what else ummm athletic stand (bended knees, broad shoulders, hands up [if the dribbler using his right hand, your right hand is front of his knee to avoid crossover while your left hand is hands-up to eliminate his passing lanes] run... run...)

that's all i can say...
