Levels of testerone/estrogen cause sexual excitement and having these hormones in the blood stimulates the release of more of that hormone masturbating brakes the cycle as will a interest in some other subject enough long enough, allowing the hormones to disperse/burn off. Or sex but think first sex is serious.
