Does any of you know the names of some songs composed by Jonathan Larson, but that never made it to the musical? Where can I find them? I'm interested in finding past music of his, considering there will be no more music from him in the future. =(

There are two released songs from Rent that never made it in the musical.
The first is Love Heals, which was released as a bonus track of sorts on the Rent Movie Soundtrack. It was written by Jonathan Larson originally to be in the show, but got caught in one of his many revisions. Its sung by the entire cast on the soundtrack, but I'm pretty sure the original song was meant to be sung by Maureen and Joanne.
The second is Boho Days, which is on the cast recording of Tick, Tick... Boom! [the other fully produced musical that Jonathan Larson wrote - if you're looking for more music by him, the cast recording of this is FANTASTIC]. Jonathan Larson sings it, and its kind of rough, but its interesting to hear.
There are also many, many songs originally in the workshop version of Rent. The show was SO different when it was first premiered at New York Theatre Workshop, and it is really interesting to hear some of the songs that got cut completely and some of the songs that were changed drastically for the final version. [Its also interesting to hear the singers - Anthony Rapp played Mark in that version of the show, as well as when it opened on Broadway and in the film, and Daphne Rubin-Vega played Mimi in the workshop and Broadway version, but all the other actors are different. Collins was played by a white guy and Maureen was played by a Celloist - imagine Over the Moon with a cello in it, its fantastic!]
Its pretty easy to find mp3s of most of the songs from the NYTW version [as its called]. Try searching for NYTW Rent in any program like limewire, or even on most Rent message boards. I do know of one. It's on the bonus CD of Rent (from the movie). The song is called "Love Heals", and it wasn't in the musical.
