im 19 and it seems like im the only teen that likes soap operas. i also enjoy shows with exciting drama like the oc, laguna beach, and like all my friends like those kinda shows too. i dont get why more teens dont watch soaps. i think they would really like them. sure, theyre on when youre in school or working, but theres always the internet. i really think young people would find it exciting and be addicted to it if they tried. how come teens dont like soaps or they dont put soaps on during like the night when teens can watch all those shows?

Well...I'm not into the whole soap opera scene, but I've watched a few. It's mostly because when teens hear "soap opera" they think "Old people show" or it may be because soap opera's appeal to people in their mid twenties and thirties and older. But they do make Soap Opera's for teens. Degrassi for example is a teen soap opera, or in my opinion it is. It's all about who the show appeals to.

Where do I start.......
!) Bad Acting...Ammend that, ATROCIOUS Acting
2)Horrible Script Writing. Some of the diaologue I've caught of 30 seconds of any Soap Opera either sends me into the gales of laughter, or brooding depression because this is what's considered to be entertainment.
3)The most ridiculous plot's are reserved for Soap Operas. I mean, more people come back from the dead in soap operas than in comic books. Not to mention people being possesed by demons, people dating there sisters and not knowing it, the list goes on and on.

Wow. thanks for this. i fairly won't be able to see why Coop and Ashlee may be enable bypass. they're some large individuals of the solid, and there are this variety of vast quantity of storyline opportunities there. in my opinion, i'm satisfied that Daisy and Grady are out (won't be able to stand both one or their appearing!). Rafe is so-so; he's element of Gus and now he's likewise leaving. As for Y&R, i'm not an avid watcher. I actually have not in any respect loved Brad, so i'm not unhappy to make certain him bypass. Heather, River, and Adam- the in ordinary words one i'm unhappy about is Adam. He has been a larger element of the teach, and he's interesting. i love Tyra, and that i discover her sensible. it really is astounding to have new human beings on the solid as a replace of the common repititious storylines. I agree that circumstances are not ordinary, and for this reason soaps are making cuts. although, Y&R has a million dollar a week budget. they could have adequate money to save different solid individuals round. ATWT and GL are yet another tale. They both have low budgets, and GL is worsening with the monetary equipment because of the low rankings. ATWT is really sturdy, and is doing somewhat minor solid transformations. although, ATWT has had adequate money to deliver lower back 6 or 7 large characters into the teach overdue this 365 days. ATWT appears doing the merely excellent, highly with their sturdy rankings, in this financial disaster. in my opinion, i don't believe that soaps will bypass lower back to a 0.5 hour format. rankings are nevertheless sturdy for most, and they can make it in the journey that they take care of their budget extra.

I believe that younger people can tell terrible acting when they see it knowing that this generation is full of people who sit around and watch TV shows and movies all day. And besides, young people don't go through half of the things that the people in soaps do. My twin is trying to marry my girl? Not happening to us. Or I hope it's not....

I'm 18 and I've been watching Days of Our Lives since I was like 9. Its been #1 on my TiVo season pass for like 3 yrs. so I definately love that... and when I moved into my dorm last August I found out that everyone else does too!! All my roommates would pile on my bed and we would watch Days and most of them watched Passions too, but I don't.. So.. some teens do!

I've watched Young and the Restless my whole life I think, well, I've stopped watching in the last couple of years (off and on) because I don't like the storylines with the kids. Yeah, I remember watching it with my mom before I even started pre-school and I've always enjoyed it.

Soapnet plays daytime soaps at night. I'm 21, and I like some soaps...but it takes too much time and dedication to follow them all! I LOVE OLTL, and I dabble a little in AMC and GH.
