I ask this question since i recently saw both superman and X-Men 3 and i started thinking when my friend asked me which super heroe would you like to be. And i said Superman and he told me The Phoenix. And then we started arguing that he could beat me since she will have mental powers and maybe control Superman. But i told him not all the time you can control him so she will and has a weakness and so this is the question if any of you comic freaks (in a good way) has there ever been a comic book regarding my question or what do you think if any suggestions to explain my friend why this particular super heroe will win.! Who, What, When, Why, and How. And if where have you heard this before please if possible. Thank you!

sorry guys for those who dont understand me but i was talking about the character in the comic books ok . Not the mystical legend phoenix in literature.

Of course the Pheonix. She can destory the WHOLE universe.

Superman will win. He always wins. Even if Chris Claremont wrote the story, Superman would win. His invulnerability would protect him from her telekinesis, his will power would counteract her telepathy. And his various powers would overwhelm Pheonix. If he had been there, odds are Pheonix never would have had the chance to consume a sun, killing billions. Superman is the hero that does what entire teams of mutants cannot. Dark Superman would do a lot more damage than Dark Pheonix. Also, Pheonix would need kryptonite to truly beat him, where he just needs to flick her upside her head with his pinkie finger and she is out cold.
X-men / Teen Titans, a marvel DC crossover where Darkseid and Pheonix are the big baddies. Superman does not appear, but you will see Dark Pheonix vs. Raven!

The Phoenix no doubt.
1. Superman's powers come from the sun and in the comics, in one alternate universe Phoenix destroyed the sun. So if she can destroy the sun, then Superman will be powerless...
2. Superman wouldn't even be able to get near her...
3. She can telekinetically control some kryptonite and kill superman with it...

Superman may be one of the most overly-superpowered being, but the phoenix is a cosmic entity with powers on an incalculable scale, so phoenix takes this.

The Real Phoenix from the comic not that crap they created in the movie will beat the living crap out of superman.

I'd have to say Phoenix and not just because she's better on the eyes. There is also that whole being able to ripe people apart molecule by molecule. That kinda gives her a bit of an edge. Oh yeah and there's the thing about her being able to tare apart planets with a mar thought. So yeah I'd say Phoenix has a advantage.

Superman because we already saw the phoenix die and the only way to kill Superman is to have kryptonite. Also the Phoenix isn't as powerful as Superman
