Absolutely, imagine if the long-range missile had actually made it to American waters, much less the mainland US (as it is supposedly capable of). Even if it's not carrying a warhead, we've still been fired upon by a person who hates us. (I say person because in my opinion, this is Kim Jong Il's doing, not the North Korean people in general, who are subjucated to endless communist propoganda. That guy is absolutely crazy.) Il is trying to start World War III, the only thing that helps us here is that China is turning it's back a little, even telling the UN that the missile launches were "regrettable." Hopefully, UN sanctions and a harsh word from China will be enough to put Kim Jong Il into place, but I doubt it. We're looking at a VERY serious situation here.

Yes, it is one of the major concerns right now. I am disappointed that I heard Russia and China didn't support strong sanctions against Korea. Every time one of these relatively unstable countries gets nuclear power it increases the danger to everyone on the planet. Sooner or later some insane dictator will use it and then someone else will have no choice but to retaliate resulting in millions dead and horribly sick. Even if it stops very soon, whole cities will be gone. Who knows what will happen next. One thing is certain. The pentagon and banks of computers have played out virtually every option and all the likely consequences.
I seriously doubt that we will start anything because we don't want to give the people who already hate us any recruiting ammunition about how the evil U.S. forced Korea to take some action. I could be totally wrong about that though. If they feel the threat of nuclear attack is so overpowering, they might take out Korea's threat with smart weapons. I don't have all the information to begin to know which way they will go. It is one of the most serious dilemmas facing the world right now. Sorry I couldn't be more reasurring.

I don't think there's much behind the "stunt." A few years ago they shot a missle right over Japan. I live in Japan, and am not really worried about it. North Korea is just posturing and trying to intimidate other countries into talks.
Yes, North Korea threatened to start a nuclear war, but most experts don't believe they yet have the capability to put nuclear warheads on missles.

Not really. It's not the first time they've fired missiles around the place. Last time they shot one clean over Japan - the thing could have failed and crashed into a city - and everyone went oooohh aaahh and rattled their sabers the same way they're doing now. Situation is that N Korea can do what it likes as long as it doesn't actually kill many people. They have a standing army of a million with 3 more in reserve. They can destroy Seoul even if they get nuked. So nobody can really touch them. We basically have to put up with their ****; drug peddling, printing US bills and chucking dissenters into gulags along with their relatives.

Yep. in the event that they have been given ICBMs which could attain Alaska, they might placed nuclear warheads on 'em. Aw, guy. We have already got this mess in Iraq, and then there is Iran attempting to circulate nuclear, too. this is too lots. If it is composed of conflict, enable's merely stay out of it and enable the North and South kill one yet another. the only reason we help South Korea is 'reason they are not Communist, and the chilly conflict is long over. Our gov has pastimes there, is all. enable's end pretending we care and stand and watch while the mushroom clouds seem. Gods help all those human beings...

North Korea has many korean mafia members in this country. They intend to do what ever it takes to prevent AMERICA from usurping authority over North Korea. I don't consider them a threat, but they refuse to be taken by suprised like IRAQ was. If my neighbor was invading my other neighbors home, I would let him know by any means necessary, that that will never happen to me.
