how about a competition were the best players in football from europe take on n and s.america,scandanavia, far east and all the other continents. just imagane the sides that would be put out ??????

That would be awesome. The sad thing is that the big European clubs would whinge that their players are playing too many "meaningless football matches".

Happened before. World teams playing against Clubs. World Cup Champ against Wrold team and so on.
In a competition it wouldn't work as there're too many countries in Europe. Who would decide which players to take ? Lehmann, Buffon, Ricardo ?
Zidane, Ballack, Figo ?
You can't only play with leaders, you need followers.
