Even though the final is supposed to be the big deal (and it is) I have a feeling that the game for 3rd/4th will be more exciting in some respects. I think the German fans will come out in total support of their team in such a way that beyond being the host nation it will give their team a distinct advantage. I also think today's loss for Portugal was a real kick in the shins that combined with their not getting the rest that the German team will have gotten will place them at an emotional and physical disadvantage.

Germany for sure. Portugal have shown yet again that they just can't get a goal. When's the last time they actually scored (not including penalty shots)? Pauletta got 1, Deco 1 and Maniche 2. That equals CRAP!! The only interesting thing about the portuguese team is that they play dirty and I laugh everytime I see them fall to the ground after being tackled by an invisible force. Very eerie.

Portugal, because they gave a hard time to France, the best team in the world. Germany is tired, doesn't have defense, they're mentally down.
I wish Germany will win though, I can't stand Ronaldo, this little arrogant brat...

Portugal. Ricardo is an awesome goalie. Ronaldo is a tremendous talent. Portugal has better ball handling skills. The Germans are a bunch of thug punks who seem to only get control of the ball by throwing their weight around.

It will be Germany frings will be back after that one game suspension which will be a great help and Jens Lehmann has something to prove after what happened with Italy. also portugals coach as you noticed today isn't to smart they are a good team but they need the strikers up there they shouldn't worry about the defence as much cause its good.

Depends whether Klinsi plays the best players or whether he'll let the extra players on the pitch.
Kahn and company would kill Portugal - plus no shenanigans with Kahn, he'll bitchslap Ronaldo into being a real man.

I think Germany will win. They wont lose 2 games in a row in front of the whole country. I definatly agree with whoever said kahn should be put in. I do however think that both teams are tired (mentally and physially) from their last games.

the 3rd/4th playoff has always been a bit of a kickback for tired players. I reckon Germany will want to salvage more pride and avoid losing twice in front of their fans.
