The German word Schadenfreude means to take pleasure in the misfortunes of others. Why? Maybe because at the worst, a person is bored and wants amusement at someone else's expense. Perhaps a personal feeling of inadequacy leads to the put-down of others to feel superior. And then you answered the question yourself, some people are just F*ing mean.
The ones that want to help after the damage though are the ones who I think are the ones who are scared, not strong-willed and are trying to fit in. They have no "self" and would rather try and pacify the group mentality than stand up and state a unique opinion.
I personally have one true friend who always says whats on his mind and how he sees it. We will disagree quite often, but I am very luck to have someone like that. For the most part, I think most people are crap unless there is a cause to rally for, then "humanity" will finally show up b/c they might get some credit for doing a good deed (plus, its expected of them to act appropriately at that instance.)

Some people are jealous of others and start to, make fun of them, start rumors, judge them. They think that will make the other person want to be around them or make them jealous. It's stupid I know, but it's true. It could also be that they like them a lot, and want to get their attention; yet once they have their attention, it might not be so good...therefor, suicide. And then some people are just mindless assholes. : )

its all part of a social phenomenon called "it looks like you care", when in fact its just a show and the reality is that nobody really gives a stuff. Its about keeping up the appearance of caring, when in reality, their actions show their true intent. People are like that, they will always let you down.
Thats why I became a christian - God doesn't let me down, and when something goes wrong, its usually a wake up call to how bad life can get, and makes me thankful for what I have.

There is something written in a book about a four legged mammal called MAN! We were called HuMan for a reason. We HUmilate one another then we become compassionate for one another because we all are one on the inside. We all bleed Red Blood. Luck

Because one is a flippant act of youth, or idiocy, and the other is a desire to avert an act that can never be changed.
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It should never be taken lightly and that is what wakes these louts up. If the crisis is averted, they want to make light of it because it probably got to be "too serious" for their addled minds.

People are doing this kind of stuff because they are 'lovers of themselves' and having ' no natural affection' for each other. Mankind has lost its love for fellow man. In 2 Tim. 3:1-5 the Apostle Paul said it would happen. He said there would be
'critical times, hard to deal with ' . And he was right! There is so much going on around us nowadays that people don't have their heads on straight. Its hard to know who is your friend and who isn't your friend. People are just out for themselves and what they can get for themselves. But that's where you have to turn to Jehovah God and ask him for guidance and his blessings on you. Because he's the only one that is going to show you the good and bad and help you keep it real in your head. He knows what its like down here and he knows his people don't want any of that stuff because they're holding out for the good stuff that he has promised for them in the Bible. See, he has it all hooked up so that those who stay real and stay foccussed on HIS way of doing things, the RIGHT way of doing things, then they are going to rewarded and get to live forever here on this earth. ANd think of it-- this earth won't be like it is now...no!! it'll be all cleaned up and turned back into the paradise that God made it to be in the first place. It'll be sooo nice and everyone'll have their own place and there'll be plenty of space for folks to be roaming around and kids playing in safety and there won't be violence anymore, nor hate nore sickness nor death. No drive-bys, no drugs , no sisters having to hook it up to make money to feed their families or anythin like that. It'll all be good then. Think about it. If that is something you think you'd want to be a part of , you just call your local Jehovah's Witnesse sand ask them about it. Let them show you the TRUTH that is in the Bible , and they will, too. They won't be telling you its in there and not showingyou, nope. You ask them to show you and they will turn to the page and make you read it yourself. Listen, if you wanna talk more, just email me, I don't mind at all.

Because people are generally selfish and with that comes an immaturity that causes people to be mean and cruel to each other. Unfortunately it is easier to be mean than nice, although if some one tries to be nice and realizes it feels better to be nice, it may help them.

Why people act they way they do can be for many different reasons: personal insecurities, prejudice, jealousy, etc.
It's all a part of human nature and one's own personal make-up.
