I'm 17 and I love swing music. Most people my age don't. So a question for everyone (all ages!) do you listen to swing and who are your favorite artists.

oh and I'm referring to the old standards (miller, dorsey, gershwin, etc) moreso than the ninety's swing revival (big bad voodoo daddy, cherry poppin daddies, the stay cats, atomic fireballs) although I love both!

Louis Prima, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and Artie Shaw are some of my old faves. I like Brian Setzer, Squirrel Nut Zippers and Cherry Poppin Daddies as some of the newer swing. I love it!!!

I went to high school in the 1980s and played in jazz band. It's great music and fun to play (better than the stodgy classical music we were forced to play), but I don't listen to a more than a few hours per month.

I like swing, but east coast style and not west coast. Count Basie under Basie himself still remains my favorite. I had seen them once twenty years ago when they were directed by Thad Jones. Among current bands Lincoln center Jazz Orchestra is probably my favorite.
