every where me and my friend go together she starts singing and to tell the truth she sucks how can I tell her in a way that wont crush her dream of being a singer???

Just tell her the truth. Not in a blunt, offensive way, of course. Do it in a constructive, advising way that helps her understand that she can improve her singing by vocal training if she really wants to be a singer.

I agree with her, but I wouldn't put it that harshly.. You could say, "Wow, that was Wow.. You know what? I bet we could go down to a perfessional voice trainer and perfect that voice and take you places you never dreamed of going! How does that sound?" I believe that everyone deserves a positive boost. I have been singing since I was 2 and was told I was bad until I went to a voice teacher who perfected my range and now everyone says my voice is amazing. Be kind.. this might be one of her dreams and I would hate to have them crushed..

Well there's 10's of thousands of people that try to get on American Idol that cannot sing also. Funny huh!

ooh, i got the same problem with my pretend little sister... just tell her that she can't sing and be straight out with her. trust me, she'll be happy you told her the truth because she wouldn't want to embarrass herself. good luck!

you should record her singing and then convince her to get lessons to sing better.
