when yahoo is opened up u can hit the preferences by right clicking the icon on the right by the clock, choose preferences and there should be a check slot that has yahoo at start up, uncheck it

Go to Start/Run and type msconfig, then the last tab is Startup, uncheck the yahoo messenger there.

Click Start>Run>Write msconfig, then in right most tab i.e. start tab check or uncheck Yahoo messenge, Norton,etc

hey Goto START-->run-->msconfig-->startup(tab) [Click on yahoo msg check box tick mark disappears ] n restart ur comp
in run dialog box type msconfig
