Your question suggests that maybe you need to approach this situation from a different angle.

Your focus seems to be on your needs, not those of the person who would be paying you. A better approach would be to believe that if you satisfy the needs of the person who would be paying you the money, your needs would be met.

You need to find the right person to ask and you need to find the right question to ask them.

To find the right person, you should start by asking yourself "Can I do something that would provide value to this person?"

You should also ask yourself "Does this person have the means to pay me what my efforts are worth?"

If you find someone where the answer is "yes" to both questions, the first step is done.

Next you have to figure out what to say.

You DON'T ask for a job. You ask them if they would be interested in having you fill the need that you have identified. If they have interest, you can then talk about money.

You may or may not get a job from this person but you will get his/her attention! That could lead to referrals other opportunities.

I am assuming you are asking this relative to a business. If so, the answer would be "no." All business transactions are based on asking other people if they would pay us to do something for them. Otherwise, there would be no need for advertising, marketing or sales people.

Yes because I usually like to help people out rather than do it for money.
