BSE ,NSE are stock exchanges where many companies get listed so that they can raise money via IPO's( Initial public offerings)

many more regional excahnges are there..
Ahmedabad Stock Exchange Limited
Bhubneshwar Stock Exchange Limited
Calcutta Stock Exchange
Coimbatore Stock Exchange
Hyderabad Stock Exchange Limited
Ludhiana Stock Exchange Limited and many more..
these regional stock exchanges usually invite companies but these companies usually comes up as fraud firms or vanishing companies which beleive in gulping investors money..
so BSE and NSE are with thier norms.. so these directors of companies which get thier companies listed over regional stock exchanges.. can't get away..with peoples money..

Sensex usually represent the money flow in the companies.. as the movement maintained by the flow of money and sometimes speculation or companies movements..

some sell shares to riase money ...in case of profit.. as suppose u purchased 1 share at 110 if u sell them at 120 then u can go for profit.. and this kind of movement ..usually refect the company's prospects..
so wanna invest.. go for mututal funds which invests ur money ..in share markets.. and these peoles are experinced and good in managing money.. so there are no chances of loosing money..

i used very simple language ..so that u can understand it better.. any more questions..
