I think that you're right, everything is within walking distance. There are places that cannot be reached by walking, but that doesn't mean that the distance can't be walked. People have walked the 3,000 miles from coast to coast in the U.S. and many people walk the Appalachian and Continental Divide Trails each year.

Yes, for the most part everything is "within walking distance" so long as you are willing to walk there. But I agree with most people that it would probably be within a few blocks of where you are currently at.

No not everything is within walking distance......If you are at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum....you are within walking distance of around eleven (11) other attractions. You do not need transportation to get from one place to another, you can just walk there.

I think nothing of walking 45minutes to an hour in one direction, so most places are within walking distances.

It's usually 1/2 mile or so.
When I do trip planners with my local transportation company, that's the distance they use.
