A MAC pigment is an highly concentrated loose powder, although it feels nothing like a powder. It adheres very nicely to the skin and stays on all day.
A Pigment can be used as an eyeshadow, you can wet your brush and use it as an eyeliner, or for a wet eyeshadow look, you can mix it with A Clear Gloss and make a lipgloss out of it.
I have many different colors of MAC Pigments because I really love them. The colors are so rich and fun to play with.
I reccomend the color Kitschmas. It is perfect for going out. It is a silver shimmer with a hint of lavender. It is gorgeous.
When you apply a pigment, I suggest using a makeup brush and take the pigment off the lid of the container in order to get the perfect amount on the brush.
Pigments are very versitile and look so professional, yet are easy to use.

Pigment is the coloring they use in their cosmetics so they match various skin tones. It also, on another level, tells you how much coverage you'll get - sheer, medium, and full. The more pigment...the thicker the coverage. I prefer medium to full, because I have some mild acne scarring. Once it clears up, I'll choose sheerer coverage.
Funny you asked this question. Two weekends ago I had my skin matched for MAC Select SPF 15 foundation. And I bought a bottle :)

I use the MAC pigments as an eyeshadow. The benefit of MAC's pigments over other eyeshadow is their intensely rich color and lasting wear. I also find it easier to apply and blend with other colors. The little pots they come in last a long time as well, because a little bit goes a long way =)

MAC Pigments can be used for a variety of things. They're loose powders that don't budge and are high in pigment (hence the name). They can be applied wet or dry as eyeshadow or eyeliner. Add it to a lipstick/stain/gloss, use it as a body shimmer (when you mix with lotion), or you can mix it into a nail polish.
