On Johnny Cash's new album A Hundred Highways, who wrote the song "God's Gonna Cut You Down"?

“God’s Gonna Cut You Down,” is a traditional hymn popularized by Odetta a really long time.... like 50 years....ago so it's probably so old there is no writer credit. It is on her Best of Odetta album. Rick Rubin produced the Cash album so he had a hand in how it sounds.... You might try checking out some old southern gospel hymnals to see if they give it an attribution.

The Golden Gate Quartet recorded their version in June of 1946. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXYRVVxBCes Bill Landford and the Landfordaires did their recording in 1950. Moby sampled that one.
