Yes it is a nice car. It is a sports car that has some nice luxury features, drives and handles very well, and even gets decent gas mileage. The only issues I have is the engine and weight. The engine is very powerful on the GT model but I don't think it is matched well to a sports car. It is basically a truck engine, 3.8L V6, iron block. Heavy. The convertible version GT Spyder weighs in at almost 3800 lbs.

For the money, it's an excellent, if your are focused on speed, no. If you want stricktly speed, I would recommend any of the Lancer Evo editions, such has the Evo VIII, the soon to come IX, or the MR. As for luxury, the eclipse is a real nice sports car, nice interior and the aero kit on the exterior is very beautiful. Good luck man!

My favourite car is mitsubishi eclipse 1999. also 2007 is good as 1999. i love eclipses 4ever they look good and fast,safe, cars. Its the best. I want 2 buy one later but there is no eclipse in Australia

I worked as Valet and i drove the new Eclipse GT and regular and both are impressive. Although the GT was disappointing performer. Its supposed to have 260 hp but it felt slower then my stock 95 GST I used to have. Besides performance the interior is solid nothing spectacular, the body is sexy and i think overall the car is fun to drive.

I dont like the body style even tho the Spyder looks much better, my brother has a '98 Eclipse and i think its much better body style then the new ones

MY FAMILY HAS BEEN USING MITSUBISHI CARS FOR ABOUT THREE GENERATIONS. BEFORE WE HAD TOYOTAS ,NISSANS AND HONDAS.TOYOTAS ARE SLOW NOISY AND HANDLING AT CORNERS POOR.HONDA FELT FLOATING AT SPEEDS.NISSAN ARE OK .
MISUSBISHI LAST MANY YEARS AS LONG AS THEY HAVE REGULAR 10KM SERVICING [SYNTHETICS OIL] FUEL CONSUMPTIONS ARE NEVER A PROBLEMS AVERAGING ABOUT 9-14 KM PER LITRE
MITSUBISHI ARE ON THE WHOLE A VERY WHOLESOME CARS FOR AVERAGE FAMILIES THAT WANT SAFETY, PROBLEM-FREE MOTORING AND LOW MAINTENANCE
