I guess, I am just wondering if women in singapore are comfortable with shopping online.
Also, requirements in terms of what kind of assuarnace does the online shop have to provide to put a woman at ease at buying say...an LV handbag or a Body Shop spa package.

It doesn't matter Singapore or US and men or women to shop online. The problem when you are entering your credit card number to have to check up whether the connection is safe and secure or not. Nowadays when you enter into the ccard number entering zone. The web address changes like for example. The normal web address will be http://www.yahoo.com and the secured connection will be like https://www.yahoo.com so always check it out whether the URL you are entering the card no is like this or not.

And regarding the requirement is just a Credit Card.

Hope I answered the question;)

I shop online for books, nutritional supplements and recently for a ceramic hair flatteners all the way from UK.

I shop online for stuffs not found in Singapore ( i am from Singapore) . However when it comes to handbag and dresses, i would prefer to hit the malls. The reason is on the mall i can feel the material of the handbag and look at the mirror to see whether it fits me. The same goes for dresses, It is difficult to shop online unless i have the figure of a model. However, i have been contemplating to buy Cloe bag (with paddington lock) - the real one which can be found in ebay. I saw the replica version in many shops in Thailand and i like it.

I feel safe to shop online, only when the secure site where you input your credit card number is "locked" by SSL - Secure socket layer. I am mindful of the brand, eg Verisign, Thawte and Netrust (these are the brands familiar in Singapore). if it is other brand of SSL, i may not consider it.

I feel safe to shop online in general. But many factors make me not shop online:
1. Local stores online do not have good sizing information
2. Local stores online do not look credible (i don't feel safe divulging my credit card number to them)
3. Local stores online do not have a good range of clothes and accessories.

Basically, I would shop online if the retailer was a big, trusted name or was referred to by a name I trust. Like Amazon's associates.

It's also hard to buy stuff like jeans, skirts, etc especially if we don't have any information to compare it to.
